In a report issued in Psychology Today, Ph.D. Gad Saad reported on consumerism as it applies to the cost of an engagement ring, trends and the compatibility of soul mates. Saad’s findings are based on statistical data collected by Lee Cronk and Bria Dunham in their published paper (available to be viewed on a paid-only basis.)

 

Findings concluded that men spent on average 8.44% of their incomes on engagement rings vs. the 25% De Beers Diamonds recommends.
