JOHN ATENCIO. A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE.
For over four decades, John Atencio has maintained the highest standards in design, materials and craftsmanship. John has proudly created jewelry to be celebrated now and cherished for many years to come. With some basic care, you can help preserve your John Atencio jewelry.
Professional cleanings are recommended as often as once a year, depending on how often you wear your jewelry. We encourage you to bring your John Atencio jewelry back to us for professional servicing. Our customer service specialists and craftsmen are experienced in all aspects of jewelry care and repair.
Between professional cleanings, most jewelry can be maintained with a nonabrasive jewelry cleaner. To clean diamonds, use a mild solution of six parts water to one-part ammonia and apply with a soft bristle brush. Ultrasonic cleaning is not safe for many gemstones, so we advise against this method. Stones such as amethyst, emerald, opal, pearl, peridot, tanzanite and tourmaline require special care – they are delicate and easily abraded. Please contact us with questions regarding the care of your gemstones.
We recommend that you examine your John Atencio jewelry regularly to make sure the settings are snug and the clasps and other connections are secure. Avoid exposing gold jewelry to household bleach, which will quickly cause gold to discolor and possibly disintegrate. Sterling silver tarnishes rapidly when exposed to salty air, swimming pool chlorine and products containing sulfur, such as rubber gloves. To remove tarnish, we recommend a nonabrasive silver polish or regular use of a John Atencio polish cloth.
At the time of purchase, John Atencio silver jewelry is packaged in a tarnish-resistant pouch. Between wearing, we recommend that you place your jewelry in its original pouch or another suitably lined box.
