CARING FOR YOUR WATCH
In advance of cleaning your watch, make sure that the Crown is secure. Use a soft damp cloth to clean the head of the watch and then wipe off with a dry soft cloth. The German Steel Band should be cleaned with mild soapy water and a soft toothbrush
We recommend a Maintenance Service after Two Years. This should include a water-resistance test and replacement of gaskets and seals as needed. This service Is available at our Official John Atencio Service Centers.
CAN I SHOWER WITH MY WATCH ON?
It is strongly advisable not to shower with your watch on. Shampoo, soaps and other liquids are highly corrosive to a watch’s delicate components and will wear out much soon. If you accidentally expose your watch to soap, you should rinse if off with fresh water and dry it as soon as possible.
CAN I GO SWIMMING WITH MY CHRONOGRAPH?
While your Chronograph is finely crafted and rated for 100 meters of Water Resistance, they are not intended for swimming or diving. A Chronograph is a complicated watch, which has several openings for water to enter – including the Push Buttons, Crown, Crystal and the Case Back Gasket. At each of these points there is a Gasket that forms a seal which protects the Movement from water.
CAN I GET MY AUSTRIAN LEATHER STRAP WET?
Leather straps should never get wet. Exposure to moisture, high humidity, direct intense light, cosmetic or oil-based products will cause the Leather to deteriorate prematurely as well as stain or discolor. If your Leather Strap comes in contact with any of these elements, dry the strap with a soft absorbent cloth to help reduce further damage.
