Solara began with John's hand-drawn exploration of the quatrefoil shape. With every sketch, he gave the familiar form greater dimension, balanced each curve and refined its proportions until Solara's distinctive star shape emerged.
The motif then took shape in three distinct expressions: pavé diamonds, black ceramic and malachite. The diamonds are carefully selected and matched for brilliance, proportion and consistency. Chosen for their color and character, the ceramic and malachite are hand-cut to precise specifications and carefully set within each piece.
From the first sketch to the finished piece, Solara reflects John Atencio's exacting standards. With John's discerning eye guiding the process, each design is brought to life by master artisans, from shaping the precise contours and smooth, even curves to the final polish.
