John Atencio Denver - Retail Sales Associate

John Atencio Goldsmith, Ltd is looking for an experienced Jewelry Sales Associate for one of their Denver locations. The Sales Associate will report to the Store Manager and will work closely with the in-store sales team. The successful candidate will be able to provide an excellent customer experience, achieve growth and sales targets, meet product and merchandising guidelines and work to create a cohesive selling environment. They must help to maintain superior service and operational excellence that is inherent in the John Atencio brand. The sales associate will be expected to reach out to existing customers, create a connection with each John Atencio customer during a shopping occasion, and provide consistent customer follow-up and engagement. John Atencio requires that all sales associates perform tasks in a manner that is consistent with company policies and guidelines in line with the team environment and the core values of respect, honesty, and inclusion.

In this luxury designer jewelry setting, the ideal candidate should be knowledgeable, responsible, energetic, friendly, engaging and an experienced sales associate that can work effectively with others in a retail setting. They should have luxury customer retail experience and/or fine jewelry sales experience, and be pro-active in learning the product line, the John Atencio story and difference, collections and design aesthetic, and be comfortable with all aspects of working in this fine retail environment. Experience in selling diamonds and engagement is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn the product line, and share the John Atencio story, history and collections.
  • Consistently meet store and personal sales goals.
  • Maintain a positive, engaging, professional, informed, and warm shopping experience.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for the brand, sharing knowledge of John Atencio, his designs, collections, and inspirations.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and high levels of customers satisfaction.
  • Achieve store targets that drive sales and additional revenue (e.g., Lifetime warranty, Reviews, Repairs)
  • Capture client information at point of sale and actively develop a client base.
  • Maintain daily operational support including set-up and breakdown of boutique for opening and closing and cleanliness of the store.
  • Actively participate in all merchandising, daily maintenance and inventory activities.
  • Ensure proper care and accuracy is taken for all jewelry, diamonds, sales, paperwork, receipts, care plans.
  • Effectively handle issues that arise from staff or customers in accordance with John Atencio guidelines.
  • Maintain clear communication at all times with store team.
  • Verify price changes, transfers, and stock are up to date.
  • Maintain flexibility to work shifts including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to fill in as needed.

Skills/Qualifications/Education

  • A strong and proven record of sales ability and performance.
  • Minimum 2+-years retail jewelry sales or luxury sales and customer experience.
  • Knowledge of diamonds and engagement is desirable.
  • Customer prospecting skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A four-year Bachelor’s degree is desirable.
  • Proficient in windows-based software such as excel, work and outlook.
  • Knowledge and comfort with POS systems.

Job Type: Full-time Exempt

Salary: Base + commission: $55,000-$75,000
