We guarantee each piece of John Atencio jewelry to be free from Manufacturing defects. We are also committed to our repair quality and will ensure that our craftsmanship on repairs also adheres to the highest standards – consistent with our longstanding tradition. For the first 90 days (after a purchase), John Atencio guarantees each piece to be free from manufacturing defects. This time period is generally adequate to determine if a manufacturing defect has occurred. We will make necessary repairs and will work to restore the quality standard that has been established once it is determined that a manufacturing defect has occurred. If a customer presents a manufacturing defect after 90 days – we will consider the circumstances and address the issue on an individual basis.
Improper Care
John Atencio is not responsible for damage caused by improper care. This includes, but is not limited to, prolonged exposure to heat or cold, water damage, exposure to household cleaners, abrasive cloths or cleaners, hair products, lotions, perfumes and any abusive wear or improper cleaning, use or storage.
Complimentary Cleaning
We offer complimentary in-store cleaning over the lifetime of your John Atencio jewelry. This not only ensures that your diamonds and gemstones are cleaned, it also includes in-store routine (every six months) checking to make sure all stones are secure in their settings. With proper care, your John Atencio jewelry will maintain its beauty, luster and character for generations to come. Contact us or bring one of your pieces into any John Atencio location for cleaning. There will be a charge for ‘professional’ cleaning, polishing or rhodium of any silver or gold JA jewelry.
Complimentary First Sizing
John Atencio will provide a complimentary first sizing on full priced rings at the time of purchase.
ENGAGEMENT RINGS: LIFETIME SERVICE
When you purchase a John Atencio engagement ring and diamond, you will receive superlative care over the lifetime of your ring. We are proud to provide the following services to help you maintain the beauty and luster of your ring for generations to come.
Setting Your Gemstone
We will set your John Atencio diamond or gemstone into that perfectly sized John Atencio setting at no charge. We will also size your ring and solder your wedding band, if desired, within the year following the purchase of your wedding set.
Complimentary Polishing and Refurbishing
John Atencio offers complimentary in-store cleaning over the lifetime of your John Atencio jewelry. This includes in-store routine (every six months) checking to make sure stones are secure in their settings.
Once a year, we offer our JA bridal customers complimentary professionally cleaning and refurbishing at our licensed repair facility. This will include professional cleaning, polishing and rhodium finish. At this same time, our licensed repair facility will complete a thorough and routine check of your ring to make sure all stones are secure. At this time, we will identify any recommended repairs to bring your ring back to a like-new condition.
LIFETIME CARE PLAN

We proudly offer extended protection through our Lifetime Care Plan on your John Atencio jewelry purchase. Our Lifetime Care Plan is an add-on and is offered at the time of purchase only.
Life happens. JM Care Plan covers the care and maintenance of your jewelry or watch to keep it in like-new condition and protects it against accidental damage. JM Care Plan also offers you coverage beyond a typical manufacturer's warranty. Pricing depends on length of coverage and the value of your jewelry or watch. You will have the opportunity to purchase JM Care Plan at checkout. This Lifetime Care Plan includes the following at no additional cost for repairs:
- Ring re-sizing
- Rhodium plating
- Refinishing and polishing
- Loss of center diamonds or gemstones due to a defective setting
- Broken, bent or worn prongs
- Cracked or thinning band or shank
- Broken clasps, bracelets or chains
- Replacing cracked or chipped stones
- Broken earring posts
- Pearl restringing

Coverage for loss, theft, damage and mysterious disappearance of your jewelry falls under an insurance policy and is separate from the coverage we offer through our Lifetime Care Plan. We invite you to explore jewelry insurance through the Jewelers Mutual Insurance Group and can facilitate a quote at any of our locations.

Can I purchase the Lifetime Care Plan online?
Very soon you may add the Lifetime Care Plan to any online purchase. The price of our Care Plan depends on the purchase price range of the jewelry piece you buy. Coming soon: Our Care Plan will be available to add to your online shopping cart.
What purchases is the Lifetime Care Plan available for?
Our Lifetime Care Plan is available on new John Atencio jewelry and is sold at the time of purchase.
What if my jewelry breaks or needs care?
Not to worry, we have you covered! We will have you reunited with your cherished piece shortly. Simply call us or stop by any of our store locations. We will repair (or replace) your piece and send it back to you when it is ready. Your piece will look as beautiful as the first day you purchased it!
What if I want to cancel my coverage?
Simply contact us. You may receive a full or partial refund according to your Terms and Conditions.
Is the Lifetime Care Plan transferable?
Yes, the lifetime JM Care Plan is transferable within the first 180 days after purchase. Contact us to update the Care Plan record.
If I return my purchase, is the Lifetime Care Plan refundable?
Yes, the plan is fully refundable within 30 days. After 30 days, the refunded amount will be prorated.
How are Lifetime Care Plan claims submitted?
Claims are submitted through the JM Care Plan portal. Simply bring your piece to a John Atencio location and we will facilitate the repair for you. If you are out of town or not close to a John Atencio store, you can submit the claim directly by contacting the customer service at the JM Care plan. Shipping and insurance coverage to the authorized repair facility is covered by the plan.
